Where is Hotel AX located?
We are located in Jätkäsaari, only a 10 minute tram trip from the central train station. Street address is Välimerenkatu 18, Helsinki.
How do I get to AX from the airport?
Here are several ways to get to us:
- Public transport works very well in Helsinki. Commuter trains I and P are both going directly from the airport to the city center and the trip will take just a bit over half an hour. From the Helsinki Central Station (the terminus of the airport trains) there’s just approx. 10 minute tram trip with tram number 9 to AX. The ticket costs 4.50€ / adult (1/2026 rates)
- Taxis are well available from the airport – although it is advisable to check the fares in advance, as different taxi companies can charge very different fares. Many companies have also fixed rates to/from the airport. The taxi ride from the airport will take approx 30 minutes to the hotel.
Where do I park my car?
The hotel does not have its own parking garage. If you arrive by car, the nearest parking garage is Rokkiparkki, approximately 50 meters from the hotel (Välimerenkatu 12). The entrance is under the orange Rokkiporkkana bridge. The shortest route to the hotel is from A Staircase. Parking costs €1.5–2.5/hour, with a maximum of €27/24 hours.
Please note that street parking has also become chargeable, payment via parking applications.
When is check-in and check-out?
Check in is at 15:00 and Check-out is at 12:00/noon, but if you want to have an early access to the room or have a lazy morning you can add an early check-in or late check out rate with an additional 10€/ hour, upon availability of course. Just let us know and we’ll add it to your room.
When is the breakfast served?
Mon–Fri: 07.00–10.00
Sat–Sun: 07.30–11.00

How does the cleaning concept work?
To be nice to our planet, we only clean the rooms on request. This is to save water and resources for the sake of the environment, but the cleaning is of course included in the room rate when preferred. You can just let us know anytime you’d like to have the cleaning done – and if you tell us the latest at evening (22.00 / 10 p.m.), the room will be cleaned the next day.
Can I bring my pet during my stay?
Absolutely! Bring your furry friends, we love it when you do. The only thing is that we will charge you 15€ pet fee / room / night.

Where is the gym?
Gym? Yes! In cooperation with UNITY Helsinki, our guests have access to their fully equipped TechnoGym, open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Pick up a key from reception.
Where can I go to the sauna?
Sauna? Yes! In cooperation with Uusi Sauna, a Finnish sauna experience is possible. Uusi Sauna is a combination of a public sauna with a terrace for cooling off, a bar and a bistro. As our guest you get a discount on the admission. Look for their websites to see current opening hours.
Ironing and laundry
Ironing boards and irons can be provided per request, just ask it from our reception!
Can I open the windows in my room?
For safety reasons, the windows cannot be opened in any of our rooms.
How does air conditioning work in a room?
AC has 5 different settings:
A = Automatic
0 = Off
1 = low
2 = medium
3 = high
Please, note that during winter time also the heating is made with AC, so 0= no heating in the room.
What about Wi-Fi?
Free Wi-Fi is available at the hotel for all our guests.
Is there an age limit to stay at AX?
Minors (children under 18 years of age) are not allowed to check into the hotel and/or stay alone without their parent/guardian/other authorized person. At least 1 person per room must be at least 18 years old.
How can I pay?
We accept the most common credit/debit cards. The hotel will become cashless during 2026. The hotel is not obliged to accept foreign currency, vouchers, cheques or credit/debit cards unless the hotel has volunteered to do so.
