Tuulevi Sivunen

The Artist Tells:
“Painting is an adventure into world of colors. At the starting point is an emotional experience, inspired by man, color, light, landscape, something that acts as a travel ticket to the beginning of the adventure. Ready-made painting is the result of a journey where surprises occur. The adventure continues from painting to painting to the unknown. Traveling with love, passion and the joy of life. ” – Quote from the artist’s website.

“I am a Finnish designer and artist living in Helsinki, Finland. I have graduated from the University of Art and Design Helsinki and work as a Design Director in my own design office Pentagon Design. By elaborating my designer skills and education I have built my artistic vision and ways of doing. I see that understanding and being curious about aesthetics, materials and form are essential in creative work.” –Quote from the artist’s website.

Merja Simberg

The Artist Tells:
“Painting is an adventure where I am an anxious explorer. I want to convey and arouse emotions. I paint abstract and enjoy the process itself. I love observing how the color moves and makes patterns, the tensions contrasts and depth variations. The physicality of the exercise inspires me a lot. ” –Quote from the artist’s website.

Klaus Kopu

The Artist Tells:
“For me, painting is about searching for the outer limits of a painting’s properties and means of expression. My paintings have no story, no dramatic arc—they depict nothing but themselves. There is only painting. I strive to invent new kinds of paintings, and they work, if they work, solely on the terms of painting itself. Even though I plan my painting processes in advance, I always choose different paths—routes that are unknown or still somewhat unfamiliar to me.” –Quote and translation from the artist’s own website
