Sustainable Travel Finland
In order for the tourism industry to be able to respond to changing demand and secure its future, development must be sustainable. For this purpose, Visit Finland has developed the Sustainable Travel Finland programme for tourism companies and destinations. The destinations and companies that undergo the entire program and meet the criteria, are awarded with the Sustainable Travel Finland label.

Green Key
We are a Green Key certified hotel. With the Green Key certification, we transparently commit to important environmental actions in our hotels and build sustainable tourism.
Daily environmental actions include, among other things
- economical consumption of energy and water- the water pressure in the shower and tap is regulated to save water
- waste reduction and recycling – in the hallway you can find recycling bins, please sort your garbage into them
- offering local, vegetarian and organic products
use of environmentally labeled washing and cleaning agents and paper - enabling customers’ ecological movement and nature tourism – the public transportation in this area is very good, you reach city center easily with tram number 9 and you can explore the city on one of those yellow city bikes during the warm time of year.
- the sheets are changed every third day
- we change your towels daily if you leave them on the floor, but if you hang them up we change them every third day – by reusing your towels you contribute to reducing the environmental impact of your stay
In addition, the destinations that have received the Green Key label aim to increase the environmental awareness of staff and customers.
Green Key-certified companies receive the internationally known Green Key certificate and program support for their environmental work and communication about it. Green Key labels have been awarded in Finland since 2015 and internationally since 1994. Globally, Green Key operates in 68 different countries and more than 5300 destinations have received the certificate.
